VoIP: A Complete Guide for Beginners
New to VoIP? Here’s what you need to know

What is VoIP?
VoIP simply stands for ‘voice over internet protocol’. So instead of going via hard-wired cabling, your calls go over the internet.

The VoIPer cloud
With VoIPer, your entire telephone system is moved to the VoIPer ‘cloud’. You’ll hear no loss of quality and you’ll see a massive improvement in your telecoms system’s flexibility.

Ethernet connection
Instead of traditional handsets that plug into the BT cable network via a physical switchboard and/or via traditional wall boxes, your VoIPer digital handsets simply plug into any ethernet port to connect direct to the internet and the VoIPer ‘cloud’.

Flexible and portable
Because you have no cabling or switchboard to configure, your VoIPer system is ultimately flexible. When you add new people they simply plug their VoIPer phone into any available internet port. And when you move office there’s no cumbersome equipment to dismantle or transport. As long as you have broadband access you’re good to go!

Mobile integration
You can integrate your company’s mobiles into your VoIPer system too. As long as they can get onto the internet via their phone network or using WiFi they can log into your VoIPer network. You can even make calls from your office PC or Mac using a VoIPer computer headset that plugs into your computer via USB or BlueTooth.

Online dashboard
The configuration and day to day setup of your VoIP system is all controlled from an online ‘dashboard’. This is simply an internet-based control panel that you log into from your PC, Mac or mobile. It’s incredibly simply to use and requires minimal training for your team to get up to speed.

Unified Communications
Because the VoIPer system is cloud-based you can add a whole load of ‘virtual switchboard’ services. These include things like automatic call diversion, instant conferencing, call recording and video calling.
